Welcome!

Hello, my name is Thomas. I have started this blog as a de facto homepage for Tulare County’s only (as far as I know) group for Atheists and other freethinkers: Tulare County Atheists. This is a group dedicated to making sure that any atheist or freethinker in the Tulare County area knows they are not alone. When I finally decided that I am, indeed, an atheist, I began looking around for any kind of organizations or groups of atheists. I found none. It seemed as though I was the only atheist in the county. It wasn’t until I met other atheists at work and other places that I realized that we are out there. I think it’s high time we came together and made our presence felt here in the “Bible Belt of California”. I also run a MySpace page where I have gathered a good number of the godless already. You can find that here. I have been posting a blog everyday on the MySpace page detailing the inconsistencies and contradictions in the Bible. I will be posting them here as well. The reason I do this is twofold. One: As atheists, we may well run into the situation of having believers attempt to convert us and nine times out of ten those believers will be Christians. These posts will give them the material they need to go from being on the defensive to the offensive. Two: Some atheists and freethinkers still think that even though the Bible isn’t true it still is a harmless book. I will attempt to disprove this idea through these posts.
